Transport for London has released a statement saying that the Hammersmith Flyover, which closed on 23 December after defects due to salty water rusting the cables were found, has opened one lane in each direction for car, vans and other light traffic.
Major delays are still expected for another four months, however, as the work to strengthen sections of the flyover continues. When traveling to Heathrow or other areas of West London, expect to add an hour to your journey time and consider using other routes.
