As a recent study abroad student coming from America I am always looking for ways to explore more of Europe. While looking for flights I discovered Ryanair – an airline company that features flights at bottom of the barrel prices. I live in central London so the closest airport to me Heathrow- unfortunately Ryanair does not fly out of Heathrow. Its largest base of travel is Stansted Airport. Stansted is located around 40 miles outside of central London. As a student I do not have a car (and I am horrendously terrified to think of driving on the opposite side of the street here). So without a car my next thought is taking a bus – unfortunately the cheapest flights leave before buses or the underground begin service, so a cab is my best option of getting to the airport. After finding a great deal on a flight though, it seems utterly ridiculous to spend more on the cab to the airport than the actual flight. So when hit with the conundrum of cheap flight or cheap ride to the airport, ubiCabs comes in to save the day. They find me the cheapest minicab ride to the airport, so I can make my alarmingly early flight and enjoy a quick trip to Italy or Poland without breaking the bank.
So today, ubiCabs is featuring Stansted Airport (STN). Besides Ryanair, STN also features the other major cheap airline, EasyJet. By flying Ryanair or EasyJet you can get to exotic locales such as Marrakesh, Malta, and Corfu for less than £300 roundtrip! A black cab to the airport from central London will cost you a whopping £100, but a minicab booked through ubiCabs will only cost you £46 – less than half of the price. While you are waiting for your bargain flight to an exotic destination you can find more deals shopping at the multitude of duty free shops. Whether you fancy a rich single malt whiskey, a trendy new pair of sunnies or a fine fragrance, all can be found inside Stansted Airport. While you are at the airport you can take a gander at the supercars displayed throughout. Ferraris and Aston Martins are regularly spotted at STN. Last but not least, take in the movie set that is the Stansted Airport. The airport has been featured in recent films such as Last Change Harvey, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and The Dark Knight Rises. While most films have only featured the exterior of the airport, 2009’s Get Him to the Greek filmed both inside and out!
